Privacy policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
This policy explains what personal information I collect through davidaobadia.com and my work, why, and what you can ask me to do with it.
Who I am
I'm David Aobadia, trading as DA Consulting, based in Hove, East Sussex. I'm the data controller for the information described here. You can reach me at hello@davidaobadia.com. I'm registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller.
What I collect
When you contact me, book a call or meet me: your name, email address, phone number, company and anything you choose to tell me.
When you take the Growth Check or the Growth Readiness Index: your name, email address, company, turnover band and your answers.
When you buy something on this site: the details needed to process the order. Payments are handled by the payment provider; I never see your full card details.
When you visit the site: anonymous usage data (pages viewed, how you arrived, approximate location, device and browser) through Squarespace Analytics and, if you accept cookies, Google Analytics.
Business contact details from public sources, such as company websites and LinkedIn, when I approach businesses I think I can help.
Why I use it
To reply to you and arrange meetings. To deliver the Growth Check, the Index and your results. To provide the services you buy and keep proper records. To understand how the site is used and improve it. To contact businesses about my services where I have a legitimate interest in doing so; you can ask me to stop at any time.
My lawful bases under UK GDPR are your consent (for analytics cookies and any updates you sign up for), taking steps to enter into or perform a contract with you, my legitimate interests in running and growing my business, and legal obligations such as keeping financial records.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep the site working. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing cookies in your browser.
Who I share it with
I don't sell your information. I use trusted providers to run my business, who process data on my behalf: Squarespace (website, forms, store and analytics), Google (email, calendar, files and Google Analytics), Microsoft (forms used for the Index), payment providers for purchases, and AI tools that help me draft and organise my work. Some of these providers store data outside the UK; where they do, they rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
If I record a call, I ask you first.
How long I keep it
Enquiries and contact details: up to two years after our last contact. Index responses and results: up to two years after your debrief, unless you ask me to delete them sooner. Financial records: six years, as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how I use it, or to move it to another provider. You can withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@davidaobadia.com and I'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though I'd welcome the chance to put it right first.
Changes
I'll update this page if anything changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
